Choose the category, identify the affected page when applicable, and include the best primary source you have. A submission is a lead, not proof; record corrections are independently checked against the controlling official source.

Headline or outletA headline attached to the wrong file, or a verified publisher requesting feed removal.

Three questions we always get

Where does the data come from?

VoteFiles links its government and court-record findings to the available official source. Some historical roll-call and identity data comes through named third-party compilations, and monitored publisher headlines remain attributed reporting leads—not official records or VoteFiles findings. Learn where these layers come from and what they cannot establish on the sources page.

Are you partisan?

No. VoteFiles does not endorse a party or candidate or tell readers how to vote. We distinguish sourced records from attributed publisher coverage and label what has not been verified. If a page appears to take a side, report it.

Is my support tax-deductible?

No. The Vote Files is an independent project, not a registered charity. If that changes, this page will say so plainly.
