County canvass deadline: Between November 6 and November 11, 2026 (3rd–8th day after the election). (Minn. Stat. § 204C.33, subd. 1: official text) The statute: “"The county canvassing board must meet at the county auditor's office between the third and eighth days following the state general election."” Source checked Sep 25, 2026.
State certification deadline: November 19, 2026 (16th day after the election); certified by the State Canvassing Board. (Minn. Stat. § 204C.33, subd. 3: official text) The statute: “"The State Canvassing Board shall meet ... on the 16th day following the state general election to canvass the certified copies of the county canvassing board reports"” Source checked Sep 25, 2026.
Recount request deadline: Written request due 5:00 pm on the 2nd day after the relevant canvass is completed; automatic (state-funded) recount if margin is <0.25% (statewide/federal) or <0.5% (state legislative) of votes cast (or ≤10 votes if total cast ≤400). (Minn. Stat. § 204C.35: official text) The statute: “"less than one-quarter of one percent of the total number of votes counted for that office or is ten votes or less if the total number of votes cast for the office is 400 votes or less"” Source checked Sep 25, 2026.
Election contest filing deadline: Within 7 days after the canvass is completed. (Minn. Stat. § 209.021: official text) The statute: “"notice must be served and filed within seven days after the canvass is completed in the case of a special or general election"” Source checked Sep 25, 2026.
Mail and military ballot receipt and cure deadlines: November 3, 2026, 8:00 pm (Election Day; no post-Election Day receipt window). (Minn.
