Headlines are the outlets' reporting, not Vote Files findings. Each headline is quoted verbatim from the outlet's public feed, attributed and linked. Vote Files does not call races, rate outlets or summarize articles. The "On the official record" panel lists only official documents and official results; when there are none it says so.

How this page works
Vote Files reads the public RSS and Atom feeds of the outlets listed below, over HTTPS with an identified request, honoring each site's robots.txt and rate limits. It never works around a site that refuses automated access. Headlines are sorted into topics and grouped into stories by the words in the headline alone; a headline can be misgrouped, and grouping is not a judgement about the story. Official items come from Election Court Watch (federal court documents published on GovInfo), the Official Record Wire (White House and Federal Register), each state's official results files, and official government documents a Vote Files editor linked. Items found by category are labeled as such: Vote Files has not determined that they concern a given report unless an editor linked them to it.
