• County canvass deadline: Board of canvassers convenes Nov 9, 2026 (5th day after the election, Sundays excepted); results certified 48 hours after public declaration (offices without a recount demand). • State certification deadline: Dec 3, 2026 (county clerk transmits certificates for state offices to the Secretary of State within 30 days from the date of the election); final legislative declaration occurs on the first day of the next legislative session. (W. Va. Code § 3-6-11: official text) The statute: “The clerk shall transmit a copy to the Secretary of State within thirty days from the date of the election...respecting the election of state officers, a copy for each officer...shall be sealed and transmitted by the commissioners to the Secretary of State within thirty days from the date of the election” Source checked Sep 25, 2026.
• Recount request deadline: Within 48 hours (Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays excluded) after the board publicly declares the results (event-triggered off the county declaration, expected around Nov 9-11, 2026).
